Our goal is to create exceptional services and experiences that fulfill the wishes of your loved one. Our experienced Funeral Directors provide guidance on the crucial first steps toward healing.
Janice & Marc Brusie
Marc was born and raised in Chico. Marc has worked at Brusie Funeral Home since 1992 as a licensed Funeral Director and Manager. Marc is a member of Chico Elks Lodge #423. Marc is a member of Chico Rotary Club and recipient of the Paul Harris Award.
Janice was born in Arcata, California and was raised in Red Bluff, CA. She graduated from C.S.U. Chico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a minor in Business Administration. She and Marc were married in 1995 and have two children, Lauren and Chet. Janice is a past member of Beta Chapter of Omega Nu. Janice has worked in the family business since 2000 as the Chief Financial Officer.
Shane was born in San Francisco and after living in Oklahoma for several years came back to beautiful California. He attended Butte College and in 2009 began working at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. In 2015, he transferred over to Brusie Funeral Home to fulfill his passion for helping people.
Debbie was born in Redlands, California. After fifteen years working at both Chico Cemetery Association and Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Debbie transferred to Bidwell Chapel earlier this year.
Todd was born and raised in Chico and has been a funeral arranger at Brusie Funeral Home since 1993. He is a member of the Chico Host Lions Club.
Tzeitel was one of the last graduating class of The San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 2002. She returned to Butte county after graduation, where she worked as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for 5 years before picking up and moving to Portland, Oregon become a commercial baker. After an 8 year hiatus from the funeral industry she returned home to join the Brusie team and pick up where she left off; in pursuit of fulfillment in the areas of empathy and care. Shelly was born and raised in Durham, California. Shelly attended Butte College and worked in the medical field in Administration for various doctor offices and hospitals. In 2020, Shelly decided to try something new and came to work for the company as an Administrative Assistant for the funeral home. Shelly immediately felt she wanted to do more and when the opportunity arose for her to work directly with families, she became a Funeral Arranger. Shelly is passionate about helping families through the entire process of designing a funeral, life celebration or memorial service.
