Obituary of Louis Coster Coito

Louis “Lou” Coito quietly passed away on August 30^th , 2021 at the age of 91, in his hometown of Chico, CA. Lou was a firecracker always living life to the fullest and encouraging those closest to him to do the same.

Lou spent over 30 years as an agricultural farmer tending to 1400 hundred acres of almonds.  A war veteran, Marine, Division 1, Lou came out a hero and stayed strong until the end of his battle with lung cancer.

Lou’s passion for travel and love of creating pieces of art from wood in his workshop carried on until his passing. As of August 18^th, Lou was finishing a piece of art that will be finished and cherished by his grandchildren.

Lou met the love of his life, Mary Lou, while dancing into the wee hours. Love at first sight, Mary supported his love of travels, dancing, and wood working. Mary was often seen through Lou’s woodshop window painting his wood pieces in their magical backyard.

Lou is survived by his son Timothy Coito, daughter in-law Teresa Coito, daughter Dianne Alaways, son in-law Greg Alaways ,6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Lou will be honored at an open burial ceremony on September 4, 2021, 10am at the Glen Oaks Burial Site.
